Overseasdreams

Melody (aka The Official Melody) is a poet, spoken word artist, author, producer, singer-songwriter, and host of Overseas Dreams Radio, the BEST radio show on Earth AND in space!

She was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, where her poetry journey started, but her music journey started in college in Orangeburg, SC. She began making beats during her sophomore year, and began writing songs shortly thereafter. During the summer of 2009, she worked at smooth jazz radio station, KJLU 88.9, on the campus of Lincoln University, where her interest in radio continued. When she got back to South Carolina, she had her own radio show on campus, called The Region Rep, where she played nothing but music from the Midwest region.

During her time in undergrad, she continued to hone her craft of making and recording music, which continued after graduating. In 2016, she stumbled upon Soulection Radio, by which listening to music by producer AbJo inspired her to make her first music project for release. Since then, she has released 4 EPs and a full-length album, all available on major streaming platforms.

In 2018, after providing a few guest mixes for other online radio shows, she started Overseas Dreams Radio, taking inspiration from shows such as Soulection, Night Swim Radio, Souletiquette, Stimulate Your Soul, and others. The show features mainly R&B and future beats, with a sprinkle of hip-hip, chillhop, house, and other genres. There are also interviews with poets, DJs, singers, rappers, as well as occasional guest mixes.
